Bootschaft Studios

Lychen, Brandenburg, Germany

To the north of Berlin, in the middle of the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park, there are four boats with a modern design.

The house was built in 1900 as a former cooperage in Lychen and after being damaged in 1948 it was rebuilt in its old form. In 2013, Helmut and Carsten bought it from the builder's granddaughter. In the second year, the first extension for Studio 2 took place. Since 2016, Studios 3 and 4 have also been completed. The boat crew has been successfully rented out since then.

From the garden you have a great view of the Oberpfuhlsee, which can only be used with non-motorized boats. In addition to native birds, bees and butterflies, rare animals such as the sea eagle can also be discovered in the green area. Insider tip from the owners: enjoy the sunrise from the terrace.

Kayaks can be used free of charge from the house's own jetty. If you don't want to be on the water, you can rent one of the bicycles or take off in hiking shoes to explore nature.

The studios have modern, contemporary furnishings that match the architecture of the boating area. The light-flooded apartments offer sleeping areas that face the garden and the lake. In addition, all four are equipped with a kitchenette. Of course, the freshly caught fish can also be prepared here. All studios are state-of-the-art and value energy ef fi ciency. In the garden there is a grill and a herb spiral, which can of course be used. The shared terrace invites you to get to know other guests and to linger.

The aim of the two hosts is that the guests feel more than comfortable and can enjoy the mix of design, nature, activity and experience. They are available at any time for questions and tips on excursions, the surrounding nature and regional shopping.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe architecture can be described as traditional and contemporary at the same time. The wooden constructions and cladding come from the local larch. Only regional companies were commissioned and all materials come from the surrounding area. In general, no chemical or artificial building materials were used. The interior is of high quality and at the same time designed to be long-lasting, so that a long durability is guaranteed. Nothing has had to be renewed since it opened. The design and the architecture in the boot shaft are connected to nature and serve to make you feel good. There are no superfluous corridors and unnecessary doors, floor-to-ceiling windows let a lot of light into the room. There are also spacious showers with rain showers and wall jets.

Employees can choose working hours flexibly and earn more than the minimum wage stipulates. In addition, the Bootschaft is part of community initiatives in the region, participates in an educational project for children in Laos and supports SOS Children's Villages.

EnvironmentThe boat crew takes care of the environment: cleaning and care products are ecological, the laundry is dried in the fresh air, garbage is separated, restaurants and shops are within walking distance, so that no car is needed. The energy consumption is minimized by a highly ef fi cient condensing boiler, thermal insulation with ecological materials of the entire outer skin and an intelligent house technology control (heating and light). All technical devices were selected for energy efficiency, among other things. The Boating uses only LED lighting. Directly opposite the house is an FFH area, a special nature and landscape protection area, with rare plants and animal species.
