Michelberger Hotel

Berlin, Berlin, Germany

When guests look out of the rooms of the Michelberger Hotel, they see the busy Warschauer Strasse with people, trams and subways on the street side and the inner courtyard, which is also busy, with seating to relax and enjoy. Various famous Berlin city scenes can be seen from some of the rooms, including the Berlin TV Tower.

The hotel is a social space designed openly by and with people, in which guests and employees meet at eye level. Mutual respect, tolerance and high quality standards are part of the concept. It is all about human encounters, celebrating togetherness, as well as freedom of thought, opinion and speech.

The Michelberger Hotel is a constantly evolving, modern family business managed by Tom and Nadine Michelberger. The former factory building was transformed into a creative hotel in 2009. It is a place where the focus is on the togetherness of people, a mix of local and international guests who enliven and enrich the hotel with their stories.

There is a close collaboration with the Danish architect Sigurd Larsen. Much of the furniture is custom-made and designed especially for the hotel, including the large chandeliers in the lobby, which were created in cooperation with "Berlin Glas". The focus is always on the high quality of the materials.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe hosts have succeeded in converting a historic factory building into a hotel with great attention to detail. The interior has been largely custom-made with local firms, such as architect Sigurd Larsen. When selecting materials and furniture, the choice was deliberately made for sustainable alternatives and suppliers. The beds, for example, come from the Italian brand Nottinblú.

FoodThe own restaurant describes itself as product-focused. The products and food come more and more from our own regenerative farm in the Spreewald or from outstanding local producers with whom we work closely. The groceries are delivered or picked up fresh every day. The menu is based on the seasonal availability of nature. A brunch buffet is offered every day, with homemade bread, fresh fruit, pickled vegetables, but also cheese, spreads and various warm dishes. A 3-course menu is served for dinner. Vegans are also spoiled here.

Employees enjoy discounted rooms, free lunch and free participation in the Yoga & Mindfulness program.

EnvironmentThe hotel attaches great importance to recycling and waste separation. The Michelberger Hotel is part of a regenerative circular economy. Only biodegradable cleaning and washing agents are used, this also applies to the shower gel in the hotel rooms. There is close cooperation with small, family-run companies and producers from the region. The hosts run their own regenerative farm in the Spreewald and promote local agriculture.

Well-BeingThere are numerous courses that are offered to guests at the Michelberger Hotel: In addition to Kundalini Yoga, there is a monthly Yoga & Mindfulness program "Lift Off" with extensive and varied courses.

Testimonials

Und wo bekommt man solche Tapeten her?
